HISTORY OF SUMMIT LABELS
It all started with humble beginnings back in 2004, when Summit Labels was founded as ‘Summit Print’. We opened shop with the first digital label press in Western Canada, and continued to add revolutionary equipment to our arsenal over the following years with a second generation HP Indigo digital label press and converting machine. In 2013, a new ownership group, led by Matthew Sauder and Gerald Chang, acquired Summit Print and in turn tripled its facility size.
Shortly after moving into a new state of the art 19,000sq ft. facility, Summit continued to add to its roster with a third generation HP Indigo digital label press and digital label converting machine. In 2016, Summit competed in the first North American HP Inkspiration Awards and took home first place in the Grocery category (a big feat in the industry).
This past year, we’ve had some big milestones, including our expansion into Alberta (with our first Calgary sales office), the acquisition of the first high-speed label screen-printing unit in Canada, and the successful test piloting of a revolutionary online label ordering system. In addition to this, we are thrilled to announce (if you haven’t already noticed) that Summit Print has evolved into Summit Labels! With our revamped branding and new website, we’re excited to build on this momentum and continue exploring innovative label solutions….stay tuned!
