Peel Back Labels

More label. Same container.

Too many regulations, not enough room? Peel back labels give you two layers of space, so your brand gets the spotlight and your fine print gets a home. No more 1pt fonts.

So, what’s a peel back label?

A peel back label is two layers of label joined by a hinge. The top layer lifts to reveal extra content underneath, then sticks right back down like nothing happened. You might also hear them called extended content labels or hinge labels. Same thing, more space.

They’re the go to for brands that need to fit a lot of information on a small container without cramming it all onto the front.

Pick your peel

Peel backs are one member of a bigger family called extended content labels. Here’s the lineup:

Peel Back Label
Double Sided Peel Back Label
Peel Off Label
Peel Out Label

Standard peel back

Two layers, two printed areas, all content facing up. The top layer lifts to reveal what’s underneath and reseals after. The classic choice for regulatory info, ingredients and directions.

Double sided peel back

Two layers, three printed areas. The top layer is printed on both sides, so you get an extra panel without adding bulk. Perfect when you really need the room.

Peel off

A removable sticker that sits on top of your label. Peel it away and your label underneath stays smooth and good as new. Great for promos, limited editions and giveaways.

Peel out

A die cut sticker built right into the label. Pop it out and it leaves its shape behind, just like the sticker sheets we all had as kids. Think coupons, collectibles and interactive packaging.

A few things worth knowing

We want your peel backs to look great and work hard, so here's what we'll chat through with you:

Your container

Peel backs work on lots of containers, but not every material or shape. Tell us what you're using and we'll make sure it's a match.

Small or curved packaging

On tight curves like lip balms or small vials, labels naturally want to lift. We recommend a quick application test before a big order.

The right material

Peel backs need a sturdy film like BOPP. Paper tears too easily for this one. If your top layer has lots of open white space, metallic BOPP keeps the layer underneath from showing through.

On the go products

Peel backs have edges, so products that live in pockets and bags may see some wear over time. We'll help you plan for it.

 Questions.
We Have Answers.

What is a peel back label?

A peel back label is a two layer label joined by a hinge. The top layer lifts to reveal extra printed content underneath and reseals after use. It's also called an extended content label or hinge label.

What's the difference between a peel back, peel off and peel out label?

A peel back lifts and reseals to reveal content underneath. A peel off is a removable sticker that sits on top of a label. A peel out is a sticker built into the label that leaves a cutout shape behind when removed.

What industries use peel back labels?

They're most common for supplements, nutraceuticals, cannabis, cosmetics and sports nutrition, where labels need lots of regulatory content. Food and beverage brands also use them for recipes, contests and promos.

Can peel back labels be resealed?

Yes. The top layer is designed to be peeled back and pressed down multiple times.

What materials work best for peel back labels?

Sturdy films like BOPP work best. We don't recommend paper because it tears too easily. Metallic BOPP prevents show through from the layer underneath.

How big can a peel back label be?

Our standard two layer peel backs can be up to 6 inches tall. For very small or curved containers, we recommend testing application first.

What's the minimum order for peel back labels?

Our minimum order for peel back labels is 250.

Can I use variable data on peel back labels?

Yes. Variable data is common for supplement and cannabis brands that need batch numbers or multiple versions on the same build.

Can I get bilingual content on a peel back label?

Absolutely. Peel backs give you room for English and French without shrinking your text.

Can I see a sample first?

Yes! Our free peel back sample pack lets you see and test real labels before you order. Request yours here.
